BITCOIN ETF LARGER THAN GOLD ETF 😱
BlackRock has made waves by surpassing its own gold holdings with the new iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), which has now accumulated over $33 billion in assets since its launch in January 2024. This rapid growth has eclipsed the $32.96 billion in BlackRock’s longstanding iShares Gold ETF (IAU), underscoring a pivotal shift as investors lean toward Bitcoin as a “digital gold.” The timing couldn’t be more significant, as Donald Trump's re-election has fueled enthusiasm for crypto. Markets surged on the promise of a potentially favorable stance towards digital assets, with BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF hitting its highest trading volume of $4.1 billion post-election.
Investor inflows to Bitcoin ETFs have skyrocketed, with BlackRock leading the charge, capturing the majority of the $1.3 billion poured into U.S. Bitcoin ETFs this past Thursday. The demand has cemented IBIT as the largest Bitcoin ETF, surpassing competitors like Grayscale’s Bitcoin fund, which holds around $16.79 billion.
While Bitcoin’s price rise has outpaced gold’s notable performance this year, some market analysts attribute the IBIT inflow spike to a favorable blend of monetary easing, political stability, and robust economic indicators.

BLOCKCHAIN AGRICULTURE🗣
Blockchain is transforming agriculture in Africa, offering new solutions to persistent challenges like market access, financing, and fair pricing. For farmers like Kenya’s Sophia Wambui, crypto-backed projects like One Million Avocados provide vital support, offering training, resources, and access to better markets. One Million Avocados and Project Mocha tokenize avocado and coffee trees as digital assets (NFTs), allowing smallholders to secure funds for farm improvements by selling tokens linked to their crops’ future yields.
With blockchain and IoT, these platforms ensure transparency, tracking the production and growth stages for all stakeholders. Investa Farm, another initiative, provides blockchain-based loans for unbanked farmers, allowing them to build a digital credit history and access financial products through stablecoins and local agents. However, regulatory uncertainty and limited connectivity still pose obstacles to widespread adoption.
Despite these challenges, blockchain-backed agriculture in Africa is showing promise, reshaping farming by providing the resources, transparency, and financing needed for long-term sustainability and growth.
