Peanut the Squirrel (PNUT), a Solana-based meme coin inspired by a social media-famous squirrel, surged 19% within an hour of Coinbase announcing plans to list it for trading. The token, which gained notoriety following the controversial seizure and euthanization of its namesake squirrel in October, is currently trading at a market cap of $1.27 billion, up 28% on the day. PNUT’s addition to Coinbase's listing roadmap continues the platform’s recent trend of embracing meme coins. The “Coinbase Effect” boosted PNUT and other tokens like Mog Coin (MOG) and Gigachad (GIGA), where they are up 5.6% and 20.6%, respectivley. $GIGA is at an ATH after its Coinbase partnership, and MOG is going to be listed as well!
