$QTO is the native token of a newSolana based perp DEX Quanto, exploded in todaythis week after Solana co founder Anatoly Yakovenko briefly highlighted it in a now deleted X post. The endorsement immediately sent the token’s market cap from $6M just days ago to a peak of $73M before retracing to $37M. The controversy stems from accusations that Quanto is a rebrand of the failed OX project tied to 3AC’s Zhu Su, with skeptics calling it a scam revival. Quanto operator Yoakim countered by saying he fully acquired the project, cut ties with past players, and added proper risk controls, including global open interest limits that OX lacked.

Despite the backlash, Quanto has differentiated itself by pledging 100% of liquidation and fee revenue toward buybacks of $QTO, a model designed to create direct value capture. With other perp DEX tokens already trading above $100M FDV, some investors see $QTO as undervalued. The deleted Toly mention brought both unwanted scrutiny and significant liquidity. Now sitting at a $37M market cap, Quanto’s trajectory will depend on whether the community accepts Yoakim’s assurances and whether the Solana perp DEX meta keeps heating up.
