Trove is a decentralized perpetuals exchange originally pitched to let users trade illiquid and exotic assets like Pokémon cards and real world collectibles using onchain markets. The project raised roughly $11.5M in a heavily hyped ICO tied to Hyperliquid, then abruptly pivoted to Solana after losing liquidity support, forcing a full rebuild of the product and breaking expectations around launch and execution. $TROVE launched at a ~$20M valuation but immediately crashed over 95%, falling below $1M and now trading around ~$466k market cap amid low liquidity and sustained selling. The team has since admitted communication and decision-making failures, confirmed the Hyperliquid path is fully abandoned, and says it will rebuild the perp DEX on Solana with a delayed launch.
