Monad’s mainnet and MON token launched today, shortly after its Coinbase ICO priced at $0.025. MON opened near the sale price, briefly spiked to $0.0286, and now sits at a $270 million circulating market cap with an FDV around $2.5 billion, though Polymarket odds heavily lean toward that FDV falling below $2 billion by tomorrow. The ICO raised about $269 million from 85,800 participants despite a slow start caused by Coinbase KYC limits, ending roughly 1.4x oversubscribed. Only 10.8% of MON’s 100 billion supply is unlocked between the sale and the 3.3% airdrop, while a 27% team allocation has drawn criticism for being high relative to industry norms. Monad positions itself as a high throughput, EVM compatible L1 designed for parallel execution and low latency, targeting DeFi, payments, and institutional high frequency use cases.
