OpenAI’s GPT-4.5 just pulled off what many thought was decades away: it passed the original three-party Turing Test, fooling human judges into thinking it was human in 73 percent of cases. Conducted by UC San Diego researchers, the study compared GPT-4.5 with models like LLaMa-3.1 and found that 4.5 not only outperformed its peers but was even judged to be human more often than real humans in some sessions. While the test highlights major advancements in LLMs’ ability to mimic human language and emotional nuance, it also raises concerns around AI’s potential for deception, misinformation, and fraud. Meanwhile, the memecoin $CHATTY fell 24 percent today to a $273K market cap despite the news.
