UNDERSTANDING THE TECH OF MEMECOINS🗣
Liquidity on Solana is primarily provided through automated market makers, AMMs, like Raydium and Meteora. These platforms let users supply token pairs, like SOL and USDC, into liquidity pools. In return, they receive LP, liquidity provider, tokens, which represent their share of the pool and entitle them to a portion of the trading fees. Raydium uses a constant product formula (similar to Uniswap v2) and also routes orders through Serum’s order book for deeper liquidity. Meteora goes further by using dynamic concentrated liquidity, allowing LPs to choose specific price ranges to deploy capital, improving capital efficiency and reducing slippage for trades.
This liquidity is what enables DEX aggregators like Jupiter to find optimal routes when users trade tokens, especially low cap or volatile memecoins. Jupiter scans across Raydium, Meteora, and other sources to find the best execution path, often splitting trades across multiple pools to minimize price impact. Without users providing liquidity to these AMMs, memecoin trades would fail due to lack of depth or excessive slippage. Now you know a little about the tech behind memecoins. More education to come.

Sonic, formerly Fantom, is launching a 190.5 million $S token airdrop to reward users across DeFi, gaming, and historical activity on its network. 25% of the tokens are immediately liquid, while the remaining 75% vest linearly over 270 days through a tradable NFT mechanism. Users can unlock early but must burn a portion of their allocation, with penalties decreasing over time. Eligibility comes from Sonic Points earned via apps and transactions, Sonic Gems from DeFi engagement, Game Gems from gameplay, and participation on Opera and Sonic Arcade. The program uses OpenBlock for incentive design and Sentio for tracking user data and historical engagement.
