On January 27, its app topped the US App Store’s free downloads chart, surpassing ChatGPT. The company, founded in 2023, released its DeepSeek-R1 model last week, an open-source large language model that rivals OpenAI’s performance. Remarkably, the model was developed in just two months at a cost of under $6 million, using a team of only 140 employees.
DeepSeek’s breakthrough has been attributed to its cost-efficient design, which activates only the most relevant parts of the model for queries, significantly reducing computation expenses. Its rapid growth has highlighted a new approach to AI development, making $SEEK a key player in the evolving market. Also, the tech stocks took a beating after DeepSeek’s announcement.

One of these videos is internet brotha Luke Belmar, who had a viral clip where he “studied” Tristan Tate, buying him Johnny Walker at the duty free to sip it in the “War Room”. This clip has gone viral, where the memecoin $SIPPIN was created. The coin finally took off briefly after Tristan Tate tweeted, “He studied bro” holding a bottle of Johnny Walker. $SIPPIN quickly rose from $480K to a $3.6 Million market cap. Trends die though, as its back down to $552K now.
