CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC LAUNCHES MEMECOIN🫡
$CAR | $0.07550 | $75.5 Million | +76K% |
The Central African Republic’s official X account, supposedly managed by President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, announced the launch of $CAR, the country’s "official memecoin," as an experiment to unite people and support national development. The Solana-based token was launched on Pump.fun and quickly skyrocketed to a market cap of $880 million before dipping to around $75 million. However, the legitimacy of the project has been widely questioned, as multiple AI deepfake detection tools flagged the accompanying video announcement as suspicious. Some people also noted that the domain for the token’s website was registered just days before launch using Namecheap.com, an unusual move for a government-backed project. Furthermore, X suspended the official memecoin account, raising further concerns about the token’s credibility.
Despite these doubts, $CAR continues to attract speculation, with significant portions of its supply held in a few wallets. 80% of the total supply is concentrated among a small number of holders, and $15 million has already been cashed out. While some believe this could be an elaborate scam, others point to the Central African Republic’s history with crypto, including its adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender in 2022 and the launch (and later repeal) of Sango Coin.
Today, we are launching $CAR - an experiment designed to show how something as simple as a meme can unite people, support national development, and put the Central African Republic on the world stage in a unique way.

DAVE PORTNOY MEMECOIN IN JAIL🗣
$JAILSTOOL | $0.03112 | $30.8 Million | -80.3% |
$PEACH | $0.01496 | $13.1 Million | +6,491% |
Dave Portnoy’s latest meme coin obsession, Jailstool, has taken the crypto world by storm, surging over 100,000% in value and reaching a peak market cap of $250 million before crashing to $30 million. The Barstool Sports founder’s late-night Twitter antics and X Spaces with his 3.5 million followers helped fuel the rally, drawing in traders eager to ride the hype. Portnoy, who initially toyed with meme coins by flipping “Montoya por favor” and Josh Allen MVP coin, faced backlash from the crypto community accusing him of orchestrating pump-and-dumps. In response, he acknowledged his speculative approach, jokingly asking if he could get arrested for his trading activity. Despite the criticism, he doubled down on Jailstool, insisting he would hold until the market cap hit $500 million.
Whale activity and massive trading volume played a key role in Jailstool’s meteoric rise. One investor poured between $7 and $8 million into the token, instantly becoming the largest holder. Portnoy now himself holds around $800K worth of Jailstool, adding to the frenzy. The token’s 24-hour trading volume briefly hit $1 billion, outpacing some of the biggest names in the space. Social media buzz pushed #jailstool to the top of Twitter trends, further amplifying the FOMO. Crypto exchange Kraken took notice, listing the coin and lending it legitimacy despite its meme status. While Portnoy has warned traders not to invest more than they can afford to lose, he has continued to promote the coin, releasing Jailstool-themed merch and teasing more announcements during the Super Bowl.
Also, just released was a Miss Peaches coin, Dave’s beloved dog, which is part of the reason for the Jailstool dip, as attention is now focused on the dog.
200 market cap seems to be our resistance. We need to smash through this piece of shit resistance point. Together we win! #jailstool

COLLEGES ARE BUYING BITCOIN
The University of Austin is making history as the first U.S. university endowment to launch a dedicated Bitcoin fund, allocating over $5 million from its $200 million endowment. With a planned five-year holding strategy, the university sees Bitcoin as a long-term asset similar to stocks or real estate. This move aligns with a broader trend of institutional Bitcoin adoption, following Emory University’s $15.1 million investment in Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust and Stanford’s Blyth Fund allocating 7% of its portfolio to Bitcoin. Partnering with Unchained for custody, the University of Austin’s initiative reflects the growing legitimacy of Bitcoin in university endowments and signals a broader shift toward digital asset exposure among major institutions. If more schools buy crypto, there will be more crypto classes, maybe teaching without a friggin packet yo about memecoins, and then the memecoins pump and all the OG’s bags pump, life is good twin.
JUST IN: 🇺🇸 University of Austin to buy $5m Bitcoin.
"We don’t want to be left behind" says CIO of the university fund.
