The token "$Base is for everyone" launched via Zora and tied to a tweet from Base’s official account surged to a $17 million market cap within an hour, before crashing 90% to around $1.9 million in minutes due to early buyers unloading large portions. Coinbase clarified that it did not officially launch or sell the token, attributing its creation to Zora’s automatic tokenization of content. Despite the volatility and criticism from the crypto community, Base’s team defended the token as a "content coin" experiment. The token later partially recovered and is now trading around a $9.1 million market cap.
Coinbase fresh off the SEC dropping its case against it, decides to boldly parlay that W into launching it’s own Base token from the official account. Naturally, it immediately rugged it.

The viral spirit of the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge is back, and this time it’s for mental health. Students at the University of South Carolina have launched the “#SpeakYourMIND Challenge,” a campaign reimagining the original trend to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health through Active Minds. In less than a week, it’s already raised over $40,000 and sparked a wave of social media participation across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. With students, athletes, and influencers pouring ice water on themselves again, the challenge is fueling a fresh movement. Meanwhile, the memecoin $ICE has increased 205% to a market cap of $163 Thousand

The Italian Brainrot trend has been around for over a month and is now making serious waves in the memecoin scene. What started as bizarre, AI generated TikToks featuring characters like Tralalero Tralala (a shark in sneakers) and Tung Tung Tung Sahur (a bat carrying a bat) has evolved into a full-blown cultural meme cycle. Tokens tied to the trend are pumping hard, with $ITALIANrot sitting at a $5 million market cap, $TUNG at $630 Thousand, and $TRALALERO at $430 Thousand.
